This page is dedicated to my partner and one of my best friends in the world, Lugar.

Lugar was born March 14, 1998 in Gasport, NY. I got him at 8 weeks of age. We enrolled in Obedience classes at Western Lakes Training Club of Buffalo when he was just 5 months old. When he was 7 months, we received 2nd place in the Beginners Obedience class with a score of 195 1/2 out of a possible 200.

Then, we went on to the Novice Obedience Class after we completed the Beginners class. At 9 months of age, we received 1st place (beating out 2 Search & Rescue dogs) with a score of 197 out of a possible 200 points.

Lugar has been certified as a Canine Good Citizen twice. His first certification came when he was only 8 months old on November 7, 1998. The second certification was on September 17, 2000. On that same date, he was also certified as a Therapy Dog with Therapy Dogs International, Inc.

Lugar and I have been members of the German Shepherd Working Dog Club of Western New York since 1999. With special thanks to them, Lugar received his BH (Companion Dog) title under the standards of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America.

Currently, Lugar is a Cadaver Dog with the Niagara County Sheriff's Department Special Forces Unit. Special and sincere thanks are due to Mr. Bill Tolhurst and Mr. Bruce Ludemann for helping me with my ongoing training.
